First Post

Hello all!

I finally decided to post something on this blog thing.  Let's start by introducing myself.  At the time of this writing, I am 45 years of age a recent grad(August 2014, last year) from Full Sail University's online Computer Animation Bachelors program, or simply CABSO.  I majored in a full spectrum of 3D disciplines, just enough to get my feet wet and my hands dirty.  I'm originally from Athens, Ohio but now going on my 11th year in Los Angeles, California.  I've done a lot since I've moved from Ohio.

I received my SAG card(Screen Actor's Guild) after only a year out in LA and am proud of that achievement.  From Background work, to a few student and independent films, I have done a bit of acting work.  However, I stopped pursuing it when I focused on other areas of my life.  I guess that's what happens when you attempt to find jobs/gigs to pay the bills in something you can do until a career kicks in.  Problem was, that work dried up too often and too quickly, so I found myself unemployed more off than on, for more than 3 years.  That's when I decided to go back to school.

I graduated August 2014 and got a job the day of graduation, just not in my field.  I'm working at the time of this writing at a medical group as the overseeing admin of all post hospital discharge. It sounds fancy, but I am busy, and making some money until I can get into my career.

My ultimate goal is to run LakeFX Productions, producing small animation and feature films, including 3D animation, VFX and even acting :).  I'm excited for the future, so let's see where I wind up.  I'm behind the wheel for once instead of a passenger of life :)!
